cos he believes it's about time for her to come to her senses so she needs to stop reasoning with herself.

there is no reason for her to cry. she just needs to do what she knows is best for her, just live LIFE happy. =)


anyways, what's new and most talked about? it's none other than the 2010 World Cup. yea, amazingly i watched through the whole final match with a few great company over burgers and juices even though i had work the next morning at 8am! (i nearly missed work from oversleeping! lol) so it was down to Netherlands (NED) and Spain. i was rooting for NED cos i just wanted to go against what PAUL, the "psychic octopus" predicted. me no likey the fact that PAUL chose Spain over Germany for the win in the quarter finals match! (even though the prediction was right) still, a traitor!!!! you were bred and apparently a PR in Germany! you even got your name from a German children's poem - Der Tintenfisch Paul Oktopushow! how could you!!?? LOL so, as expected, i did my part in carrying out MISSION: essen Tintenfisch (hint: it's in German), the very next day after Germany's lost to Spain! well, the mission sidetracked a bit, not the main aim but still under one of the sub-missions.

back to the finals match, i nearly had a cardiac arrest! my heart stopped beating for a second or two each time either one of them tried to score a goal. the match was so intense! and even before half time, i was already pissed with that baldy referee. IMO, he was more concerned on giving out yellow cards than actually supervising the game play and his judgements seem kinda bias. i'm not saying the NED players didnt deserve those yellow cards for those who actually did hurt the Spain players unintentionally or not. but some of the "accidents" arent even their fault! i remember seeing a replay of one of those mishaps which clearly showed that the NED player came in contact with the opposition's upper part of the body, like the arm or something. BUT apparently, the Spain "victim" ended up rolling on the field like the rolie polie olies, with a devastating-worse-than-labour-pain expression on his face while his hands gripped tightly onto his, LEG! the heck?! it didnt happened once okay.. most of the yellow cards given to the NED were from those dramatic acts by the Spaniards! so drama.. like very severe sufferers of ADHD! pfftt. the best actors are found on the field. haahaa

but oh well, it was worth the watch. intensified entertainment!

so now that the World Cup is over, work is going to be hectic! now time to catch up on my sleep.

syndrome X

okay, it's high time i update on the past few crazily busy weeks. (warning, excessive photos ahead! credits to various cameras)

first off would be, Sonia darling's homecoming! i cant believe that it's been a year already since she last came home. it's really scary how time flies, everything still felt like it all happened just yesterday. i guess i just dont want to grow up. the faster time flies, the faster i'd have to mature and face the world as a grown adult. but i'll forever be that little Amy at heart. well that, is the downside of being the youngest child - the need for copious amount of attention, pampering and love. but anyways, homecomings always go with partying!

well of course it aint all about partying, i managed to had a great time catching up and having heart to heart talks with my darling by the beach one fine afternoon over fried calamari and french fries ♥ and also for some shopping at island in boxers!

then of course, the usual coffee sessions for gossips and what not.

.. and the laughter over makan session with the rest of the girls and their other halves (if applicable lol). i just cant help but to put up this photo of ming's new japanese tourist boyfriend! konichiwaaaaa~

apart from the wonderful time spent with the girls, work has been fun and yet boring at times. it can get so boring to the point that finding counter names of certain companies listed in the share market somehow became our favourite pastime. lucky for me, i've got a few partners to do lame things at the office. but generally, i love the people there! they're all so nice and fun. there's never a day at work that i dont laugh =)

work during the last week of June was half spent on helping my head of department, Jess's maid of honour to finish up all those little details of her wedding. from checking the table list to tying ribbons on the game cards. (refer to pic above) one thing that was new to me was the wedding vows printed out for the groom. among the 20 commandments of the wedding vows, these are the few which i like:

• I will remember that I am your husband and that I love you. I will be kind to you. And I shall not let you wash the toilets.
  
• I will appreciate you more and express it more often.


• I will give you 30% of my salaries and bonuses. And I shall bear all your expenses on spa and facial treatments.


• I will apologize more often, even if the hurt was unintentional. I know that since we are different people, it will be impossible not to hurt you at times, I will take responsibility, say, "I am sorry" and not accuse you of being overly sensitive.


• I will not underestimate the power of small gestures, the special smile, the note, the small gift, the loving word. I will always kiss you every morning and every night before going to bed. ♥


• I will make our marriage a priority. I will find some time every day to spend with you alone, for at least a few moments. ♥
  
• I will make every effort to go out with you, when possible, several times a month. I know all relationships need talking and time together. I know that the stronger the marriage, the more stable the family. I will make the effort to have a half yearly oversea trip together.

it's sweet and funny in a way. touching and yet hurtful, at least for me. so here are some photos of the wedding day for you all to feast your eyes upon.

when the tables turn

so it's a mutual understanding in between two individuals which not everyone can tell. i share a couple of these mutual understandings but it doesnt make me any smarter in knowing how to identify one. you dont ask, you wont know. but what not known does not hurt. i shall not satisfy someone's curiosity for the sake of satisfying mine. ;)

but i'm still curious! meh. other people's emotions or how i interpret them are starting to affect me again.. sometimes i just wish that my brains arent that hardworking and rather take a leave or two.. that department has overworked! i cannot afford to pay OT wages to 'em.. =( i just took a whole load off and finally successfully flushed them down the loo.. so be good and stop thinking about non-substantial stuff can? =/

Anyways, the past few days had been pretty random.. from hiking up to 84 to movies and to chilling sessions.. time is passing by so fast that it's only a week and a half till my internship starts! *frowns* i havent even started baking yet! *double frowns* time to stock up on baking ingredients and burn the kitchen down! green tea konnyaku jellies, anyone?

tonight had been somewhat interesting.. went for duck egg fried koay teow with my mac-tards and talked over dim sum.. aside from the ghey nonsense, among the things we discussed were on music, series and etc which made me ponder and evaluate more about myself. (i see the light.. lols) i come to realise that throughout the past 3 years, i've lost part of my personality.. when i was in a relationship, i somehow unconsciously evolved and moulded myself into someone else.. i'm talking in terms of hobbies, interest and likings to the point where i pushed aside my personal likings and instead adopted the likings of my partner. when it ended, same goes for the interest and likings to most of the things. but the problem would be figuring out where to pick up from then after. =/

you pick up nearly all your partner's interest and likings just so to be closer in hopes for more common grounds for communication. but how often can that certain activity/subject pop up on a daily basis to strengthen your relationship? your liking towards a certain thing because your other half likes it, serves no purpose in your life. you will just be living a life of a weed - a valueless wild plant. where's your backbone girl? where's your own stand? you only sway according to the direction of the wind. someone will come over one day with the pesticide and go, "ddddieee u nuisance~! DDIIIEEEEEEE! muahahahaha" lols

while chilling the other day over Jack Johnson's album made me realised that i used to love his music but then chucked aside cos, it wasnt to the boyfriend's liking/taste. my taste in music now is like, seriously boring. i only listen to what that is played on the radio.. no more Jem, Garbage, Jimmy Eat World, Switchfoot, The Rasmus, My Chemical Romance etc... all forgotten. even my all time favourite japanese band, L`Arc-en-Ciel.. chucked and abandoned in the back of the garbage dump. well, at least i'm back to James Morrison.. =) *shrugs*

an even more obvious thing would be none other than, blogging. oh well, slowly picking back up from where i last dropped off.

the perfect combination

i just had a hell of a day.

for the first time, it felt as if i was from gheyland and not the island. i actually spent 10 hours in total at that place and drove around as if i knew the place at the back of my fingertips. (maybe a little laa) i give myself some credit for being able to actually make my way to sunway from inderawasih without any help. so this is what my day summed up to:

• sunway damn boring to jalan. though i heard those departmental stores crying for my attention, i didnt find anything to my liking =/
  
• all segafredo franchises should like seriously stock up on their tomatoes! if you dont have 'em, dont put it in your menu! at least let your customers know what's available and what's not to avoid disappointing them and put them into another dilemma in deciding what to order again. one more time they tell me that they are out of tomato tonic, i'm going to go to the market, get a tonne of over-ripe tomatoes and have a La Tomatina with all the segafredo franchises in penang.
  
• Guinness has got this sourish weird malt taste to it. not bitter, but SOUR like malt really gone bad. lols and mind you, my taste buds are perfectly fine.
  
• gheyland's got pretty much some nice food and the duck egg fried koay teow in BM (Bukit Mertajam) is da bomb! the smell of it is just.. mmm yumms~! cant wait for the next time there again. heck, cant wait for food trail!
  
• the bridge's so much pweetier at night. pweety street lights all lined up in rows while overlooking the other pweety lights from the island and gheyland. *hearts* i cant even remember when was the last time i traveled across the bridge during the night.
  

on another note, i might have drowned earlier tonight? yes, i love the water and might want my ashes to be spread out in the sea as well, but i dont think i actually had drowning in the 15ft end of a swimming club pool in mind.. i've been helping dad out at his pool lessons, taking over some of his classes when he's got too many students to handle in one night, for a few years now. but tonight's lesson was by far the most challenging, one which puts all my years of experience to test. to cut the story short, the worse case scenario? it's either the fella ends up on the surface like what he wants BUT with a punctured lung or i drown. meh.

while we're at this topic, bare with some of my rants which i've put some thought and observation at for quite some time now. scuba diving isnt a sport or an activity which u seek glamour from learning it. it's not about how many dives and how deep you've gone or where you've dove before. it also isnt about feeling more superior just cos you've had your hand in a sport which not everyone has the chance to experience. yes, i admit it's an expensive sport but so what? it's not for you to show off. and now with cheap and fast courses the other commercialised diving school are offering (which i shall not mention in detail here), every tom, dick and harry can "proudly" say that, "i can scuba dive". i can feel and sense that it's starting to become what i would call, "overrated". the way how i dont like it with the iPhones (will touch on that another day). i do see people around who boast that they can dive but they dont even know nuts about appreciating the underwater world. do you even know how to take care of your gear or nottt?? do you even know how to set up your tank properly or nottt?? no righttt?? then shhhuutttuppp.

on an even random note, i miss our quartet i miss our quartet i miss our quartet. i saw ming and yan's vid recording of 'more than words' for sonia darling's birthday. sweeet =) and oh! i found videos from sookie's camera of the english week back in form5 - our drama, singing and the stupid things we did at the hall after the event. sadly, sookie's digital camera back then didnt come with the voice recording so the vids i have are like the ones of charlie chaplin's films. sigh. i miss singing with the girls like SO much! how we would work on the songs together and practice for over a million gazillion times just to perfect it! =) we so need to get together and make a comeback! lol

spontaneous & random

so basically, i had a short getaway. damn tiring, but worth it though it was a really seriously spontaneous one. everything was planned and confirmed in 4 days time. i ate my stomach out, walked my legs out, talked my mouth out and enjoyed my heart out. me likey =)

okay, i think it's really high time for me to keep this blog up and going alive.. lol
so it's been about two weeks since i got back. pretty much enjoying this holiday compared to the previous sem breaks which seemed too hectic to my liking. i used to hit the malls the very next day each time i come back to penang and fully schedule my week for facial, shopping at gurney, movies, more shopping at queens, hiking, more movies, bowling and etc. the plans just never seem to end, like a starving monkey being let loose in a fruit buffet. (cannot blame me wat.. i do come back from the jungle) but this time, i didnt had the urge to shop the very minute i step foot on the soils of our dear island, instead i was more eager to clean up my store bedroom which i left in a mess when i went to uni. so i cleared out all the junk, rearrange my furniture and stayed home the whole week, working hard like an indon maid. =) IF only i had the money, i'd like to re-furnish my whole room and make it all cozy and more modern looking.. sigh. every furniture in my room's older than i am. (except for my DIY book shelves and study table of course..)

anyways, went canoeing with the girls.. and some guys this morning! it's been some time since i've done any water sports and it was fun.. and tiring. vin and i went on the single canoes cos he knows i prefer it and it's easier to control though i was a bit worried about him (due to his drowning experience) but i'm glad it was alrite. the bunch of us only canoed around the cove, about 30m off shore and not long, ended up splashing water at each other. the brave hunted their hopeless victims while the 'smarter' ones fled for life at the sight of others being tortured. lol so ming, yan, vin and i decided to row to the other side of the cove and found a very nicely decorated and designed spa/resort/chalet building which non of us knew of its existence. funny thing is, we were just floating around and ming really enjoyed resting with her toes in the air while the waves pushes the canoe. right after she commented that it was so nice, both ming and yan's canoe was washed onto the shore. damn hilarious. lol. right before our hours' time's up, vin and i exchanged our single canoes with ming and yan's double. while the girls were having fun, vin decided to capsize both their canoes which caused poor ming and yan with cuts on their feet from the dead corals on the muddy bottom. made the cheeky bugger felt kinda bad and sorry. haha

after a nice quick shower, the starving bunch proceeded with lunch at a nearby chicken rice stall. then only a number of us continued our day with a game of bowling. i'll probably be aching all over after tonight's rest. sooch even suggested on going for a jog tomorrow.. goodness, count me out. i'm too "old" for such vigorous non-stop activities.. i'm afraid my bones will break.. haha.
as soon as we tire ourselves with three games of bowling, we headed off for some desserts! now i've got another spot to look for yummy thirst-quenching, cooling dessert. and it's cheap! it's jelly served with ice shavings, syrup water, a big longan and a slice of lemon. the tinge of lemon with the jelly and the sweet sugary cold syrup water makes such a perfect combination.. simply delicious! it's sold on a van-like-truck by the road side just after the ferry terminal.. but i forgot what it's called.. some hokkien word like "orr chien" or something like that.. haha mind me, my hokkien is terrible.. it was about 3pm and i was already having my third meal of laksa, chee cheong fun, chai koay and the yummilicious dessert. tht sounds badd.. but i enjoyed it! i've attended two dinners in a week and one more to go on the 16th.. i'm definitely going to put on weight.. in places that i dont want.. T_T sigh.

i should be getting my rest now. body's starting to ache already.. =(
