MERRY CHRISTMAS!

i know it's a bit late to wish everyone out there.. it's boxing day already.. haha as usual, i'm just s-l-o-w.. but anyway, i'm sure everyone had fun =)

there wasnt any party-ing this year, but a quiet celebration with my form 6 friends instead. here's a wrap-up of my night..

then after, chilling out at vin's place before the carollers from his church arrive. yes, cute.

well, we were suppose to head to Sunset Bistro for the "countdown" but the carollers were running late so we ended up having the "countdown to Christmas" at vin's place.. (i still dun get why there's a countdown to Christmas anyway.. lol) after fooling around and force-feeding ourselves with the snacks and my cuppycakes i made (no pic tho =[ stupid donkey's fault..) we still went up to Batu Feringghi.. but sunset was super packed.. really packed.. so we bought some drinks from the bistro/bar/pub next door and went further down the beach cos the music at the other bistro/bar/pub really sux. formed a cozy circle and talked/shared about freaky ghost experiences and stories. will never beat last years' Christmas eve, but still enjoyable =)

hokkien for dummies

bro came in and put some box thingy on my table. then i realized, it was an external HDD!!! FINALLY!! koko bought my external hard disk even though we had an argument about it before his KL trip for the comic fiesta.. aint branded but he got a 160GB one with a protective cover for RM190.. ok laa... as long as it serves its' purpose of storing all my garbage.. haha.. well, there goes my RM100.. yea, i finally succeeded in forcing extorting asking my stingy bro to at least sponsor half the price of the HDD.. hmm.. i wonder who can be my next target to sponsor me a Celcom Broadband... tee hee hee...

talk about getting stuff, was at Gurney this evening to hunt for more shoes.. and hopefully able to grab cheap stuff.. but instead, i found myself stuck at the watches department of Parkson.. ogling and salivating at the display glass of the DKNY and Fossil watches.. serious... i was sOooo attracted to 'em.. cos it's really high time for me to get a new watch!! thankfully i didnt embarrass myself cos dear sharon was there, so i took the opportunity to give her some work and tried on a few watches.. =) best thing is, she told me that i can purchase the watches at staff price, which means.. 50% discount!!! whee!!!!! there were some which i really really like.. but most of them were a little to big for my wrist even after the detachable part of the strap was taken off.. sigh.. then we decided to have a look at the other watches at the main Fossil shop itself.. i found one which is not bad and wear-able for any occasion.. BUT.. even with the 50% off, i still don't have the money.. i'm really really tight on cash. and i've got a tonne of things i need to get as well.. sigh.. some other time?

btw, i learned a new hokkien word/phrase today!! it probably isnt something new for most of the penangnites/hokkien ppl..

mum : where did you go?
me : i went over to SEC to get the "tien bok keng" (but comes home empty handed)
mum : so, did you buy the rice cooker?
me : i didnt buy the "tien bok keng" cos the salesman said that ... blah blah blah.. so there wont be any new "tien bok keng" in the shop until tomorrow when their lorry comes. so i will have to go over to SEC again tomorrow to buy my "tien bok keng"!
dad : buy what?
me : "tien bok keng"!
dad : what?
mum : rice cooker.

it sounds like some room or something cos if i'm not wrong, the bedroom is called "pang keng" and the toilet is called "chang keng/chai keng" in hokkien, so what makes the "tien bok keng"? LOL.. farney..

little did i know that this new hairstyle of mine makes me look so valuable.. my face should be printed on money notes.. those notes will then be of more value to our current pieces of paper/plastic/synthetic/whatever-material-it-is with coloured ink on which are not even backed by gold.. haha

this is so saddening.. now i'm starting to regret on cutting it this short.. T_T worse part is, the back is kinda wavy already.. i my itchy fingers couldnt stand not washing my hair for more than a day, so i had to wash it.. wasnt supposed to do so until 3 days after i've straighten it but i havent been that obedient and patient.. now my hair just looks weird.. it's still flat, very straight at the front but oddly waved at the back.. S-I-G-H... someone please give me a jessica alba head mask for christmas, i'd really appreciate it.

on a random note,

i'm craving for bacon and cheese rolls! yummilicious!!

i'm actually tempted to have a bbq with the girls, but thinking about the cleaning up part and getting everyone together just makes me so lazy to organize one again..

i know.. i know.. well, it isnt suppose to turn out this flat anyway, before having it straighten.. it looked much better from the front but the back was just totally in a mess.. so i really had to straighten my hair.. i just hope it'll have more shape soon.. sigh.

i asked vin how do i look and he said, "doesnt it make ur face look longer?" why thank you darling. that is so nice of you to "compliment" on not only my hair but my face as well. it's not that i dont already know that i have an exceptionally unusual long face, you had to emphasize on it to make me feel special hor.. haha but then he said he liked it (not sure if he actually does or was just saying it so that i wont go bug him about my hair all the time.. haha) not really used to it though.. but heck, it'll grow in no time.. till then, u ppl will have to bear with my new look whether u like it or not.. haha

btw, results for the final exam is out today!!! i've been looking forward to this day ever since my last paper was over.. haha i've been sort of a nerd the whole of this semester.. rarely went out for food or 'entertainment'.. it wasnt my choice.. but because i was a bit REALLY tight on cash. the government loan for this semester was only about RM700 plus for 5 FREAKING MONTHS.. which means roughly RM140 per month, RM35 per week, RM 5 PER DAY!!! crazy or not..?? u tell me how to survive.. my average spending is about RM500 per month with some extras for my shopping "emergencies".. haha.. how not to rot in my room the whole day surviving on instant noodles and burgers..? my only source of entertainment was downloaded TVB drama series, english series and even taiwan drama series.. so when i run out of shows to watch and had already slept for nearly half the day, all that is left is to study in order to keep my mind functioning properly.

and yes! all my hard work and effort paid off!!

i'm so so SO happy i tell u.. cos when ever someone tells me that they are worried of not being able to maintain their CGPA, i always end up telling them not to expect their pointers to keep increasing by the semester as each semester will definitely be more difficult with killer papers and never-ending assignments. BUT.. for economic students like me, we LOVE to see increasing trends in certain or most of the economic graphs.. well then of course variables like petrol prices would be otherwise la.. haha

and this is my personal micro-time series which shows an upward trend!! nice hor... *GRIN*

our small island

looks like this year is coming to an end. we'll be in year 2009 in just about 2 weeks but it feels like a few months ago since i celebrated last Christmas with the girls at Mois.. come to think of it, the last december was really fun and joyful.. especially having nearly all my dearies around.. well, except for sookie cookie.. this year seems a bit quieter with about half the ppl not being around in penang.. but at least the rest of us here still make plans n get together.. =) i still can clearly remember last years' Penang Medical Christmas Dinner at Tanjung Bungah Hotel with ann n nian.. it was sort of a really last minute thing cos i forgot why my mom couldnt make it n so she passed the 3 tics to me.

well for this year, mom has got no last minute change in plans, so i accompanied her for the dinner.. sat at the same table number with pretty much the same ppl as last years' dinner - mom's colleagues from her old department. and to my suprise, i found out that the lady at our table, is actually one of my MGS senior, (Rachel Chan's) grandma.. what a small world i'd say. besides that, i met a few other seniors as well and also a primary school teacher. but i forgot what her name is. all i can remember is that she used to teach RK classes, funny and sporting. i guess penang really is a small island where everyone is somehow connected to each other.. which is good and bad in some ways.. makes us all like a real big family but all kinds of bad news will tend to travel faster, than a speeding bullet.. haha

anyways, will be cutting my hair in time for Christmas, again. haha

and yes, i'm cutting it on the 18th at 10am. (ming, DONT laugh..) it's an appointment! wrong meh..? lol

okay, i think it's really high time for me to keep this blog up and going alive.. lol
so it's been about two weeks since i got back. pretty much enjoying this holiday compared to the previous sem breaks which seemed too hectic to my liking. i used to hit the malls the very next day each time i come back to penang and fully schedule my week for facial, shopping at gurney, movies, more shopping at queens, hiking, more movies, bowling and etc. the plans just never seem to end, like a starving monkey being let loose in a fruit buffet. (cannot blame me wat.. i do come back from the jungle) but this time, i didnt had the urge to shop the very minute i step foot on the soils of our dear island, instead i was more eager to clean up my store bedroom which i left in a mess when i went to uni. so i cleared out all the junk, rearrange my furniture and stayed home the whole week, working hard like an indon maid. =) IF only i had the money, i'd like to re-furnish my whole room and make it all cozy and more modern looking.. sigh. every furniture in my room's older than i am. (except for my DIY book shelves and study table of course..)

anyways, went canoeing with the girls.. and some guys this morning! it's been some time since i've done any water sports and it was fun.. and tiring. vin and i went on the single canoes cos he knows i prefer it and it's easier to control though i was a bit worried about him (due to his drowning experience) but i'm glad it was alrite. the bunch of us only canoed around the cove, about 30m off shore and not long, ended up splashing water at each other. the brave hunted their hopeless victims while the 'smarter' ones fled for life at the sight of others being tortured. lol so ming, yan, vin and i decided to row to the other side of the cove and found a very nicely decorated and designed spa/resort/chalet building which non of us knew of its existence. funny thing is, we were just floating around and ming really enjoyed resting with her toes in the air while the waves pushes the canoe. right after she commented that it was so nice, both ming and yan's canoe was washed onto the shore. damn hilarious. lol. right before our hours' time's up, vin and i exchanged our single canoes with ming and yan's double. while the girls were having fun, vin decided to capsize both their canoes which caused poor ming and yan with cuts on their feet from the dead corals on the muddy bottom. made the cheeky bugger felt kinda bad and sorry. haha

after a nice quick shower, the starving bunch proceeded with lunch at a nearby chicken rice stall. then only a number of us continued our day with a game of bowling. i'll probably be aching all over after tonight's rest. sooch even suggested on going for a jog tomorrow.. goodness, count me out. i'm too "old" for such vigorous non-stop activities.. i'm afraid my bones will break.. haha.
as soon as we tire ourselves with three games of bowling, we headed off for some desserts! now i've got another spot to look for yummy thirst-quenching, cooling dessert. and it's cheap! it's jelly served with ice shavings, syrup water, a big longan and a slice of lemon. the tinge of lemon with the jelly and the sweet sugary cold syrup water makes such a perfect combination.. simply delicious! it's sold on a van-like-truck by the road side just after the ferry terminal.. but i forgot what it's called.. some hokkien word like "orr chien" or something like that.. haha mind me, my hokkien is terrible.. it was about 3pm and i was already having my third meal of laksa, chee cheong fun, chai koay and the yummilicious dessert. tht sounds badd.. but i enjoyed it! i've attended two dinners in a week and one more to go on the 16th.. i'm definitely going to put on weight.. in places that i dont want.. T_T sigh.

i should be getting my rest now. body's starting to ache already.. =(

well, i recently came across one of chung lern's post here. (note: ramblings from this point onwards may be a bit "drama" cos i'm in the mood to tembak ppl.. haha)

so.. should i be all bitter and cry cos i'm very sure that "People losing interest on my blog just because i dont update." hah. but since he/she put it that way, ppl might just be interested in my blog cos i seem to find my blog filled with a number of depressing post, more "drama".. haha. but hello, just because CL has someone new and no longer post depressing posts up in his blog doesnt mean he never felt the pain before. doenst mean that he somehow dug out a chunk of his brains with memories of nian and flush it down the toilet bowl, then somehow miraculously survive and has no recollections about the past. don't be such a donkey, can?

sigh. a bit mad and disappointed. i mean, how can he/she say such things to CL? is it against the law that chung lern is able to move on and be happy with his new found love? it's definitely non of his/her business and he/she is in no position to judge CL. i'm happy and proud of CL cos it isn't easy especially for emo ppl like us (tht's if he's still emo like me.. lol) to move on from what has happened. i guess this experience has made him stronger, in which i'm still trying to achieve (forgive me, but i'm a bit of a s-l-o-w learner.. lol) and i'm glad that he's happy with Stephanie (though i've yet to get to know her but she sounds nice from CL's posts) =)

oh.. btw, back in penang!!
